This is a free event for member schools. $100 fee for non-members. 

 

This program is an invaluable opportunity for new Board Chairs to learn from experienced Board Chairs and Heads of School and to converse with colleagues to prepare for the challenging and exciting year ahead leading their school’s board of trustees.  “What I wish I knew when I took this position” will be our opening premise.  Together, we will explore the primary responsibilities of an independent school board and the attractions, joys, challenges, and potential pitfalls of being the key facilitator of their execution.  You will leave this session with an informal list of “top ten tips” and a network of colleagues and resources.  Heads are encouraged to attend with your new (incoming or currently completing first year) Board Chair.
